Variety Description
A very attractive alpine strawberry with contrasting yellow foliage
and small red fruits that have a rich, sweet flavour. The plants will
crop for many weeks and may be grown in patio containers or in the open
ground. The pale golden yellow foliage gives all year round interest.
Golden Alexander will flower and fruit in the first year. An excellent
plant for retail sales.
Sowing and Germination
Seed should be germinated at 18° C (65° F), which normally
takes 14 to 28 days. Once the seedlings are large enough to handle, they
should be pricked out into trays.
Growing on
The plants should be grown on at 15° C (60° F) and hardened
off before planting in their final positions in the open ground.
