SALVIA SPLENDENS RED ARROW

Botanical name : Salvia splendens
Family :-Labiatae
Class :- Half Hardy Annual

Seed Count :- 300 Seeds per gram (8,500 Seeds per ounce)

Variety Description

An easily grown half hardy annual with brilliant red flower spikes that contrast well against the green foliage. Salvias can be used to dramatic effect in the annual border.

Sowing and Germination

The seed should be sown under protection in pots or trays and germinated at 20C. Germination takes 7-14 days. The seedlings should be pricked out when large enough to handle, into seed trays.

Growing on
The plants should be grown on and hardened off prior to planting. Salvias prefer good soil and should not be allowed to be checked at any time as this will lead to stunted growth. Flowering period. July to September.

Uses
Excellent plant for bedding displays, flowering over a long period from July to September.
